Spent The Night In Savannah
Verse 1
I was so relaxed, headed home from church that night
My wife and I were officially on vacation
But as we walked thru the door, my dog had thrown up on the floor
A bottle of pills now in the process of in gestation
Verse 2
I panicked and didn’t know what to do
My wife told me God would see us thru
So we found us an all night vet – got the prayer chain going
Well we drove on thru the night - I told myself she’d be all right
I found out that night how I loved her so

Spent the night in Savannah in a cheap hotel
Praying for my puppy that she’d be well
Spent the night in Savannah with a breaking heart
Didn’t know if she’d be here, long after dark

Well I tried to sleep some that night
It was hard not knowing the plight
Of my little Karli bear back in the clinic
I worried and wondered what we should do
I felt so helpless thru and thru
My mind tossed and turned and I didn’t think she’d make it.

Feeling Like Elijah (1 Kings 18)

I’m feeling like Elijah against the prophets
Suiting up for battle God’s on my side
