Why was I chosen by God – I’m the most arrogant one
I’m all about ‘cause’ and enjoy being the boss
I was zealous and I was lost

Why was I following Christ – Was I caught in a zealous vice
Like a fish in a net, my soul’s captured by Him
Will this last or be soon finished

Christ saw something within me, which needed to come alive
Christ saw much that was in me, that needed to be crucified
He saw the man I could be. He gave me purpose and a plan to be free

I was angry at Jesus when He wouldn’t strike out
I was waiting for justice to come be poured out
He spoke in riddles and rhymes seemed to me
Our cause was lost, our king died on that tree

Then God appeared to us alive from the dead
